PANCAKE DAY FUNDRAISER

About the event

Pancake Day is UnitingCare South Australia’s major fundraising event to support those in need, via Uniting Church Relief Centres and Care Organisations.  Each year the Pancake Day fundraising season commences with a Launch Event on Shrove Tuesday.

In 2025, UnitingCare SA recorded more than 72,000 visits across its 14 relief centres statewide. People experiencing hardship received support including pantry items, prepared meals (served in community cafés or provided as frozen takeaway meals), household goods, and assistance to access additional support services. As our relief centres rely heavily on volunteers, the range of services available can vary between locations.  We expect this demand to increase as the cost-of-living crisis continues, also affecting those with home mortgages, people in rental accommodation and small business owners.

We encourage businesses, schools, service and sporting clubs, church congregations and community organisations to show their support by hosting their own event during Pancake Day season – anytime from Shrove Tuesday through to 30 June.

To take part, simply register your event using the Register box at the bottom of this page.  If you or your organisation are not able to host a fundraiser event, individual donations can still be made through the portal below. All donations and funds raised through these events go directly to local UnitingCare organisations, helping them deliver practical support to South Australians in need.
